Cover Reveal: Chosen Ones by Tiffany Truitt

I am very excited to help reveal the cover of Entangled Publishing's newest cover
CHOSEN ONES by TIFFANY TRUITT.
Chosen Ones is the first book in a new YA Dystopian series scheduled for release April 2012.

What if you were mankind’s last chance at survival?

Sixteen-year-old Tess lives in a compound in what was once the Western United States, now decimated after a devastating fourth World War. But long before that, life as we knew it had been irrevocably changed, as women mysteriously lost the ability to bring forth life. Faced with the extinction of the human race, the government began the Council of Creators, meant to search out alternative methods of creating life. The resulting artificial human beings, or Chosen Ones, were extraordinarily beautiful, unbelievably strong, and unabashedly deadly.

Life is bleak, but uncomplicated for Tess as she follows the rigid rules of her dystopian society, until the day she begins work at Templeton, the training facility for newly created Chosen Ones. There, she meets James, a Chosen One whose odd love of music and reading rivals only her own. The attraction between the two is immediate in its intensity—and overwhelming in its danger.

But there is more to the goings-on at Templeton than Tess ever knew, and as the veil is lifted from her eyes, she uncovers a dark underground movement bent not on taking down the Chosen Ones, but the Council itself. Will Tess be able to stand up to those who would oppress her, even if it means giving up the only happiness in her life?

Isn't it beautiful?

Wishing for....BLOOD BORN

Waking up in a coffin hungry for blood is only the beginning for sixteen-year-old Ava Blue. When Chance Caldon, the hottie who dug her up, tells her that she’s half vampire, Ava’s world really turns upside down.Half vamp? Ava can’t believe it...she doesn't even know what that means! Not until Aldric, a thousand-year-old vampire, shows up and tells her it’s true--and that he’s the one who turned her. Then Ava truly begins to believe what she is. Now she has to deal with a sudden and powerful bloodlust, the desire to see Aldric dead, and her growing crush for Chance. Ava knows she's a monster now, she can feel it; and her life is over.

But redemption isn’t lost. Aldric is giving her a chance to regain her humanity. The price? Kill a hundred vampires, or remain a bloodsucker forever.

So Ava sets out to get her life back. But killing vampires begins a battle that could destroy everything she is working toward. In the end, Ava's decisions will forever change her life and the lives of those she loves.

Wowza, I have wanted to read Blood Born since before the cover was designed.
Jamie Manning is the author and awesome book blogger too! Check out his blog Writers Write Right?

Blood Born will be released from Pendrell Publishing April 24, 2012.

Fractured Light Blog Tour

I’m dying, I thought. This was unexpected and not at all how I envisioned my death. I was supposed to die gardening in a flowerbed as a hundred-year-old woman, not as a seventeen-year-old trapped in a lake beneath inches of ice.

Llona Reese is used to living on the run. After the Vykens killed her parents, she knew they would eventually come for her too. She can’t take any chances. But when she starts to make friends for the first time in her life, she gets careless and lets her guard down. Big mistake.

As an Aura, Llona has the ability to manipulate light and harness its energy. This is the power the Vykens are after. This what the Guardians are trained to protect. Christian has been waiting his whole life for the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a Gardian, but Llona has other plans for him. Going against everything she’s been taught and defying the Auran Council, Llona convinces Christian to teach her how to use her power as a weapon. It may be her only hope of survival.

My Thoughts:

Fractured Light tells a unique story about a young girl that is different than the rest of the world. Frustrated by living in a bubble Llona decides to step out of her comfort zone and try to live a normal teenage life. She makes friends, goes to social events and even develops a crush for the first time in her life.

All why trying to learn about her Aura powers and hide from the Vykens.

I enjoyed Fractured Light. The story is steady and consistent. It seemed a little slow at first but developed strong characters and plot that left me feeling invested in each one of them. I LOVED - LOVED- LOVED that this was a clean read AND a good story.

I would recommend Fractured Light for ages 13 and up. Most young women will be able to relate to Llona's journey in self discovery, confidence and self empowerment. Fractured Light is one book I will keep and read with my daughter as well as recommend to friends and family.

Fractured Light will be released by Cedar Fort Books on February 8, 2012.

Graff, a self-proclaimed "accidental children's writer," has created a fantastical story about Felix, learning how to grow up, survive, even overcome his fears. Perfect for anyone who loved Where the Wild Things Are and is still fascinated by the world of dreams.
Graff is also the author of four novels for adults, including The Price of Liberty, which was a finalist for the Society of Midland Authors fiction prize. By day, he is the editor of Book list Online. He lives in Chicago.

One night Felix meets a boy who knows how to fight the monsters, a boy who looks just like him and is also named Felix.
