I am a GFC follower. I love all the Thanksiving food. Especially the stuffing. This year will be hard for my family. My Dad died on Oct. 6th and Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday. I have lots of happy memories of Thanksgivings spent with him. Thank you for the giveaway!
I love just about everything surrounding Thanksgiving. I love the food. I love our family tradition of going to the movies after dinner. And I especially love going shopping the next day!

My family and I always make Lefse (Norweigan potato - crepe-like-bread...) and then you spread butter over it and coat it in sugar and it's soo good. The making of it is quite a process and takes a team effort so it's become a family tradition.

I love Thanksgiving! Our entire family use to always get together at my Maw Maw's house. I'm talking extended family. There were about 50 of us. Sadly, she passed away and my parents moved away. So for the past several years we haven't been together for T-day. This year, my parent's are living back in town and my husband and I are going only a couple hours away. So we get to have my whole side of the family together again. I can't wait!

My family gets together at my parents every year, and probably my favorite Thanksgiving tradition is waking up "early" with my sister and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in our pj's. We're now in our twenties, but we still do it every year and for the last couple we've roped my oldest into watching with us.

I am a GFC Follower: cody / evrythngzen. I love food at Thanksgiving. I live in the SW so red chilie on potatoes is awesome (if it's not too hot). I love pumpkin pie with massive amounts of whip cream. Also, it's super funny but I always remember when we would have huge family dinners and my aunt would come offer to clean up as we were finishing and my Grammy would say, I see you have perfect timing as usual and then laugh.
Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorite meals. My favorite is Seet Potato pie but a close second is Pumpkin Roll.

I love thanksgiving because all my family gets together and we fight. Sounds like a bad thing, right? It's not. I love fighting with them because most of them are bikers and I always learn new vocabulary :D

Thanksgiving is my weakness - I love ALL the traditional yummy foods. But my favorite is what my BF calls "Cherry Junk", which is a type of cherry cheesecake. He makes it every year in memory of his brother who passed away years ago and loved to eat cherry junk for Thanksgiving :)

My sister-in-law was making her very fist turkey, & everyone was gathered round the table awaiting the results... We heard a scream... she left the giblets inside with the plastic... no saving the bird! :(
We all ended up going out to eat & laughing about our various culinary mishaps!

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the turkey! I actually DON'T make any part of our Thanksgiving dinner!! My HUSBAND takes care of it and my father. The boys let us girls relax for the day. That is our tradition. And WOW! They make an awesome bacon-wrapped turkey!

Here's my favorite Thanksgiving (& Christmas) dessert recipe:
Pumpkin Crumb Cake
Ingredients
•1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
•1 egg, beaten
•1/2 cup butter, melted
•1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
•3 eggs, beaten
•1/2 cup white sugar
•1/4 cup packed brown sugar
•1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
•1/2 cup white sugar
•3 tablespoons butter, softened
•1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray or grease one 9x13 inch pan.
2.Reserve 1 cup cake mix. In a large bowl, combine the remaining dry cake mix with 1 egg and 1/2 cup melted butter. Mix well, and then pat into prepared pan.
3.In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Pour over crust.
4.In a small bowl, combine reserved 1 cup cake mix, 1/2 cup sugar, and 3 tablespoons softened butter. Crumble over pumpkin filling. Sprinkle nuts evenly over the top, if desired.
5.Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Serve warm with whip cream on top

My favorite Thanksgiving food is my grandma's sweat potatoes. She would mix fresh orange and pineapple bits with the sweet potatoes, top with marshmallows and bake til the marshmallows were toasty! YUMMERS!

My funnies Thanksgiving moment came several years ago. The way my apartment is set up, the two building face each other so when I stand at my front door, I look across into my neighbors place. So, my boyfriend and I had to run to the store because I forgot something for Thanksgiving dinner, this is common for me. As I open the door, the neighbor runs out of his apartment with a turkey in his hands and smoke pouring out of his house. After the initial panic and wanting to know if he needed any help we learn that the fat from his turkey had splashed out of the pan and hit the heating element in the oven and caught on fire. After the laughter died down, we learned it was his first Thanksgiving with his girlfriend and he was trying to impress her, which started the laughing again. Needless to say he made one heck of an impression.

My favorite Thanksgiving dessert would be this fruit pudding salad my mom makes. It has bananas, cherries, pineapple, orange and some of their juice, mixed with vanilla pudding. It comes out this hot pink/melon orange fruity delicious treat.

My mom loves to prepare different kinds of desserts during special occasions. She doesn't do pies though. I love it when she makes Flans and Fruit Salad. My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is a peanut butter pie I make with vanilla pudding, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, cool whip, and oreo pie crust topped with oreo cookie crumbles. It is sinfully delicious and certainly not very health conscious, but we likes it.

My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is a lemon jello dessert with basically a cranberry relish mixed in. There is a whole orange, pecans, celery, and cranberries all minced up, mixed together and then sets in jello.
Everyone looks at it funny, and often refuses to try it (including me til I finally tried it in my late teens) but it is so good! At least because it is apparently an acquired taste, there are much fewer angling for that dessert and that means much more goes around!

Thank you for participating in this fun event. I would love to read Eternal Starling. I was about to tell you how much I love, love, love pumpkin pie and then I saw Emily's comment and she so reminded me of when we were kids and grandma would be shooing us away from the olives, as we liked to have one on each finger tip - my fingers no longer fit, but I still love black olives and come to think on it, most olives from the unusual stuffed to the mundane standard good old black pitted :)

My favorite dessert is my mom's homemade pecan pie. My favorite tradition is of COURSE this thing we do called a 'Chinese auction' and it's basically just a fun cover to get rid of our junk. Doing that with all different generations in my family is my favorite moment of the holiday.
